Creo Que Tengo Un Problema…

Mis pensamientos estaban un poco descarriados esta mañana.

Estaba distraída, pensando en todas las cosas que tenia que hacer, incluyendo escribir.

Lo primero que hago cuando me despierto, después de lavarme los dientes, es preparar mi desayuno. Pero aparte de eso, tenía que hacer una llamada. Estaba tan preocupada y estresada, que me toco cocinar y comer mientras hablaba por teléfono. ¿No es eso de locos?

Para los que están leyendo esto, saben muy bien que me encanta desayunar, ya que lo publico todos los días en mi cuenta de Instagram. ¿Entonces cómo es que estaba haciendo otra cosa mientras desayunaba?

Al mismo tiempo, estaba un poco ansiosa y preocupada porque no tenía un tema en especifico para el blog de esta mañana, así que comencé a buscar en internet alguna que otra idea para la publicación de hoy. Mientras estaba navegando en la web, mi mente se perdía y no quería enfocarse en lo que estábamos haciendo. ¿Entonces será que a mi mente le gusta funcionar como una computadora y tener varias ventanas abiertas a la vez? ¿Multitasking? ¿Es bueno o malo? Pues no lo sé.

Mientras decidía sobre que iba a escribir en este post, también estaba pensando en que prepararía de almuerzo y de cena y también sobre si debería comprar un nuevo lente para mi cámara. Si alguno tiene ideas o sabe de buenos lentes para una Canon EOS500D déjenmelo saber en los comentarios.

Fui de buscar ideas para el blog a Amazon, donde conseguí un lente que me gusto bastante para mi cámara. Y acabe en YouTube mirando el video de Miley Cyrus Mother’s Daughter.

En ese momento fue cuando me di cuenta de que tenía que escribir sobre lo desorganizado que estaban mis pensamientos.

Estoy segura de que no soy la única y que varias personas han pasado por lo mismo en algún momento.

En mi opinión, como seres humanos creo que no podemos enfocarnos en una sola cosa a la vez. El tiempo pasa tan rápido que si pestañamos ya nos perdimos un titular de noticia. El tiempo vale oro, como dicen algunos. Pero la verdad es que el tiempo no se detiene ni un momento. Y nosotros tampoco.

Cuando nos despertamos en la mañana lo primero que hacemos es mirar las redes sociales en nuestros teléfonos celulares. ¿Quién sabe cuántos atardeceres nos hemos perdido, nada más por estar pendiente de tomar una foto o simplemente por estar mirando nuestros teléfonos?

La verdad es que cuando me senté a escribir el post de esta mañana, me olvidé por completo de mi teléfono celular. Es increíble como la acción más mínima nos puede generar tranquilidad y concentración.

Nuestra mente está recibiendo información constantemente, tanta, que a veces no nos da tiempo para procesarla. Creo fue lo que me paso a mi esta mañana. Necesitamos desconectarnos de la rutina algunas veces, creo yo.

Conozco gente que dice que no tienen tiempo ni para tomarse unas vacaciones porque están muy ocupados. Ok, estar ocupado no tiene nada de malo. ¿Pero, se han puesto a pensar como el estar ocupado todo el tiempo nos afecta nuestro modo de vivir? ¿Es posible poder despertarse un día y hacer una cosa nada más, sin tener que pensar en otras?

No lo creo …

Vivimos en una época donde las cosas se necesitan para YA. Entregar un reporte, o si perdemos el autobús o el tren, o si llegamos tarde al trabajo, etc. Pero como siempre estamos ocupados, no nos damos cuenta de que probablemente estemos estresados y no tengamos una organización mental. Siempre tenemos cosas rondado en nuestros pensamientos y en realidad no nos podemos enfocar en ninguna.

No es fácil. Pero de alguna manera u otra, hemos aprendido a vivir así.

Vamos a Comer…

Creo que me estoy poniendo vieja muy rápido…

No recuerdo exactamente cuándo comenzó a gustarme la cocina. Lo que si recuerdo es que siempre me ha gustado comer. Entonces, para poder comer hay que cocinar, ¿verdad? Comer y cocinar siempre van de la mano.

Hoy en día, gracias a las redes sociales no tenemos la necesidad de pensar en recetas. Simplemente entramos en Facebook o Instagram e inmediatamente vamos a conseguir videos con recetas.

Cuando era pequeña recuerdo que mi madre utilizaba libros de cocina para seguir recetas, ya los libros no son necesarios hoy en día, la verdad. Yo sigo haciendo casi lo mismo en realidad, pero en lugar de utilizar libros de cocina, simplemente entro en Facebook o Instagram y me aparecen videos de recetas automáticamente. También tengo un par de libros de cocina en casa que uso poco, pero que están ahí. La verdad es que simplemente entro en Instagram y consigo alguna receta que sea fácil de hacer y ya esta lista la cena. Estas son las paginas que sigo en Instagram y Facebook y de donde saco mis ideas de cocina:

 

Para mí, la parte mas importante de cocinar es ir a comprar comida en el supermercado. No a todo el mundo le gusta ir al super. Pero para mí ir al supermercado a comprar mis alimentos, se ha convertido mas en un hobby que en algo que tengo que hacer por necesidad. Disfruto el caminar por los pasillos y detallar cada cosa que compro, no nada mas el precio. Suena un poco fastidioso, pero a mi me gusta hacer mi lista e ir a comprar todos los fines de semana.

Recuerdo que cuando era pequeña, siempre iba con mis padres al supermercado. Me gustaba mirar y elegir yo misma lo que quería comprar. No me molestaba en realidad, mas bien creo que lo disfrutaba. Y todavía me sigue gustando. Ir al supermercado además de ser una necesidad, me relaja. Caminar por los pasillos del supermercado hace que me olvide por un momento de las cosas que están pasando en mi vida diaria. Y cuando cocino, me pasa lo mismo.

Yo creo que ir al super y cocinar ayudan a desestresarte. Esto sucede porque se requiere mucha atención y concentración al momento de hacerlo. No significa que no se puedan hacer varias cosas mientras cocinas o haces la compra, pero si se requiere mucha concentración y fuerza de voluntad.

Hace un par de días, no me sentía nada bien. Quería regresarme a mi casa y no quería ni ver ni hablar con nadie. En cuanto llegué a mi casa, me di cuenta de que no tenia nada de comida en la nevera y que tenia que cocinar mi almuerzo para llevar al trabajo al día siguiente. No lo pensé mucho, y comencé a cocinar con lo que conseguí en mi nevera. Inmediatamente note como mi humor cambio drásticamente. Comencé a sonreír y estaba llena de energía. Tanto así, que creo que me quede despierta hasta tarde esa noche. No fue porque cocine toda la noche, pero simplemente porque tenía energía y mi mente seguía activa.

Me sentí igual un día después que salí del trabajo. Sabia que tenia que ir al super a comprar unas cosas que necesitaba, pero estaba bien cansada y no tenia ganas de nada. Al momento que saque mi lista de la compra de mi bolsillo y comencé a caminar por los pasillos del super, me olvide de lo cansada que estaba y comencé a buscar lo que necesitaba. Una vez que llegue a casa y organice mi compra, comencé a cocinar para la cena. Se me había olvidado por completo el cansancio. Cocinar para mí, la verdad es que cambia mi estado de animo por completo.

Ahora, no a todo el mundo le gusta cocinar. Si lo vas a hacer, tiene que gustarte porque sino en lugar de mejorar tu estado de ánimo, puede que lo empeore y la comida no te saldrá igual de rica.

Yo no necesariamente cocino todos los días, pero los domingos trato de preparar almuerzos y cenas que me den para un par de días. Trato de escribir y planear que voy a comer cada día, ya que así es más fácil a la hora de ir a hacer mercado. También es práctico, porque si no sabes que comer al momento, lo mas probable es que acabes ordenando una pizza o comiendo en la calle.

A mi me gusta comer, a ustedes también, ¿no?

I think I’m getting old …

I don’t remember exactly when my love for cooking started, but what I do remember is that I’ve always loved eating. And in order to eat, then I must cook. Both cooking and eating will always go together.

Today with the help of Social Media we don’t really have to think about what to cook. We can just go into google and type what we feel like eating, and we will get a recipe.

When I was still a kid, I remember my mom had cooking books and sometimes she would follow recipes from these books. Technically I am doing the same right now, but instead of going into cooking books, I will just go to Instagram or Facebook and a food video will pop up. I still own some cooking books that I use every now and then. Facebook and Instagram are my go-to pages when I am in need of something quick and not so easy sometimes. Here are some of the pages I follow on Instagram and Facebook for recipe ideas:

Now, the most important part of cooking is going grocery shopping. From my experience, not everyone likes going food shopping. To me, going to the grocery store has become more of a hobby and less of an activity. I enjoy going to the store and choosing carefully every vegetable I’m buying. It sounds a bit annoying, but I do take my time and my shopping list to the store every weekend.

I remember I liked going grocery shopping with my parents when I was little. I would go to the store with them and choose what I wanted. It didn’t bother me as a kid, I enjoyed it then and I still enjoy it now. Grocery shopping for me, other than being a necessity [because I need to buy stuff, so I can cook], it relaxes me. It makes me forget about what’s going on in my head. Cooking does the same for me too.

I think cooking and grocery shopping are good de-stressors because they require a lot of attention to detail and concentration. It does not necessarily mean that you can’t do anything else at the same time, but it does take a lot of energy and effort.

There was one day this week when I was not feeling my best. I did not want to talk to anyone, and I just wanted to come back home and go straight to bed. As soon as I got back, I realized I did not have anything in the fridge and that I had to make lunch for the next day to take to work. Without thinking too much, I started cooking and my mood changed immediately. I was smiling again and full of energy, so much that I went to bed a bit late that night. And it wasn’t because of the cooking, but because my mind was still active, even after the cooking was done.

I had the same feeling after work one day. I knew I had to get some groceries, but I really wasn’t in the mood. I pull out my shopping list from my pocket, grabbed my basket and started walking. As soon as I started looking for my food, I completely forgot about how I was feeling and was walking around the grocery store with a smile [almost]. Once I got home, I forgot that I was tired, I organized the groceries and started cooking. Cooking really is a mood changer for me. But again, you have to enjoy it because if you don’t, then, it will just put you in a bad mood and the food won’t taste as good.

I don’t cook every day, but I do cook every Sunday to have enough food for the next couple of days, at least. I write and plan my meals and based on that, I make my grocery list. Better than having to think on the spot what to cook. It really is about being organized and making the time to cook and shop.

I like eating, and so does everyone, no?

To Follow Or Not To Follow – Instagram

Being a daily Instagram user, I have always been careful about who to follow. And because it is a platform that I use daily, I usually try to stay away from content that won’t provide me any useful information.

The below influencers have taught me about how to keep a balanced lifestyle and stay atop my fitness goals. Aside from providing workout ideas, all of them provide mindful eating tips and even recipes that are easy to make. I say the recipes are easy because I am someone who follows recipes to a tee and they end up looking just like the video, or the picture.

There is a lot of people who would argue that eating healthy or [properly] is expensive and that they can’t keep up with it. I think it is just an excuse to be lazy and order takeout. Because if you are spending $30 on take-out, you can also spend $30 and go grocery shopping. Ordering take out is easier, and I am guilty of doing that too. But at the end of the day, our bodies will feel and work better if we give it food that was cooked at home.

Sascha has her own line of supplements including protein powder and BCAAs. She published two books that are about recipes and wellbeing that include workouts and tips on fitness. She also has a YouTube channel where she tries to publish weekly videos either promoting her line of supplements or helpful tips on what to eat throughout the day. I have been following Sascha for a good four years now and other than providing fitness tips, she is also focused on her daughters and family.

I like Sasha because aside from being a woman in the industry, I feel like she explains the content really well and is very direct. She will tell you what you should or shouldn’t eat using scientific and medical explanations with lots of background information. I really do like her fitness content, however, the only downside to her Instagram stories is that sometimes she is too focused on her daughters, and I feel like she forgets about what her account is really about.

Kevin Curry @fitmencook – 1.4m followers

Kevin Curry has published two cookbooks focusing on nutritional recipes for both men and women. He is also a fitness enthusiast and posts workout ideas. He also has a YouTube channel where he provides meal prepping ideas. I have been following Kevin for a good three years now and the main focus for me is the recipes and food videos.

I really like Kevin’s content because aside from being aesthetically pleasing, the food is delicious. I say this because I have tried to make a couple of his recipes. Kevin is really focused on clean eating and his feed is very colorful since he provides tips on how to include whole foods in all your meals, I mean vegetables and fruits.  He also tries to adapt every recipe to be a low-carb meal. As well as provides insight on which kind of spices to add to every recipe.

Ainsley Rodriguez @ainsley – 1.9m followers

Ainsley is an online trainer and fitness model. She provides tips on diet and workouts while focusing on clean eating. She provides online training and posts successful stories about clients who have gotten back in shape after using her personalized programs. I think I started following Ainsley around the same time I started following Kevin Curry. Ainsley focuses on how to stay active even with having a busy schedule. She travels a lot and is always posting about her daily routine and foods. Because she is a fitness model, she keeps her figure all year round.

I like Ainsley, because aside from being a woman, Ainsley is about the to-go life, which I think most of us identify with. Having a busy schedule is for a lot of people an excuse to not eat properly. However, by following Ainsley I have learned that you don’t really have to be able to cook at home to keep your figure all year round.

Living For a Wish – Aladdin

Aladdin – The story of a street rat and his pet, a monkey – Abu. He falls in love with Princess Jasmine and does the impossible to get to her heart. All of it with the help from a Genie in a lamp.

But we all know this story already. And with the new version of Aladdin, that hit the movie theaters a couple of weeks ago, we remember the story that 27 years ago came to life.

The topic for today’s post came up because I realized I needed to watch both versions of Aladdin since that is just how critical I am. I have analyzed almost every detail of both versions and discovered more similarities than “mistakes”. I guess at the end of the day, one of our wishes came true.

First, we need to focus on Princess Jasmine. On the 2019 version, Princess Jasmine is played by Naomi Scott. Other than having a beautiful voice, real-life Princess Jasmine does have a similarity with the cartoon character, not only physically, but also personality wise. Princess Jasmine is sweet, innocent and independent in the 1992 animated version. However, on the 2019 version, she is represented as a Queen more than a princess, in my opinion. She is very independent and can make decisions for herself even if it will harm anyone else. What’s with Dalia anyways? On the 2019 version, Princess Jasmine is accompanied by a housemaid throughout her decisions of choosing the right Prince. Even though in the older version, Jasmine is all alone with her companion, the Tiger – Rajah.

I must admit, I did not really like Naomi’s Scott acting in the 2019 version of the film. I thought it was too fake and she was trying too hard. However, upon watching the older version, I realized that she did a better job than what I had in mind. Very well done!

Now into Aladdin. Aladdin is played by Mena Massoud. This is what I call a real-life Prince Aladdin. Another wish coming true.  Other than being incredibly physically attractive, Mena did a tremendous job on playing Aladdin. His facial expressions, smile, and reactions are almost the same as the cartoon character. In both versions of the movie, Aladdin is portrayed as a street rat and hated by the high class. As a street rat, Aladdin, along with his pet – Abu, steal for a living. On the 1992 version, Aladdin is only shown as stealing mostly food since they are most focused on them being hungry. However, the 2019 version shows Aladdin as stealing precious jewels and other artifacts in exchange for money.

I really admire Aladdin. Yes, both the character and the actor. Aladdin because he surpasses every obstacle until he is together with Princess Jasmine. Fighting for love. Mena Massoud for being lucky enough to get this role and making the best out of it.

Finally – The Genie. The Genie is played by Will Smith. The personality for both cartoon Genie and real-life Genie is outgoing and very fun to be around. Other than being able to make your wishes come true, Genie can be considered a real friend. Even though Jafar does not see it like that. Genie is blue in both animated and live action movies. I was not really expecting that to happen, but Will Smith was able to pull it off and, he was also able to play the different characters Genie goes through while showing Aladdin who he is. For example, Genie’s clone during Genie’s introduction to Aladdin.

I was a bit skeptical about Will Smith playing Genie. I really was not sure about what to expect. But guess what, another wish came true.

And now, I’m out of wishes.

Out of wishes, but never out of words.

Aside from having a well-chosen cast, the movie, in general, had some minor changes. For example, in the animated version, Aladdin shows the whole world to Princess Jasmines while flying on the magic carpet. We can see Egypt, Greece, and China. However, on the live action version, we can’t really see where they are going. On the animated version, Aladdin is thought to have kidnapped Princess Jasmine and in the 2019 version, no one mentions anything about a kidnapping.

The only similarity to the 100% that I found is Jafar wanting Aladdin. In both versions, Jafar reaches out to Aladdin because Jafar thinks Aladdin is the chosen one to get to the lamp. And even though the way of getting to Aladdin changes in both versions, the concept is still the same.

To me, Aladdin is all about fighting for what you want and never giving up. And even if Aladdin had to pass as a Prince, so he could talk and spend time with his loved one, he never gave up and he succeeded in getting her love.

El Arte de Hacer Películas

Como ya había mencionado antes, saben que me apasiona la fotografía y hacer videos. En uno de mis posts anteriores, escribí sobre cómo me sentí al usar la Bolex H16. Esta cámara fue usada por primera vez en el año 1935. Este es del tipo de cámara que utilizaba rollos de film y que había que revelar. Era un proceso bastante manual, porque para filmar con la Bolex, además de montar el rollo, había que medir la luz manualmente utilizando un medidor de luz, tomando en cuenta la apertura de cada lente que estaría montado en la cámara. La cámara Bolex no utilizaba ningún tipo de baterías, pero si un motor. Era un motor que había que darle cuerda y que solo te dejaba grabar por 18 segundos en cada vuelta.

Afortunadamente, ya no estamos en la época de los 1990 y la tecnología ha avanzado bastante en los últimos años. Estos avances fueron los que nos trajeron la GoPro. Para aquellos que no han escuchado hablar de ella, la GoPro es una minicámara la cual puedes llevar contigo a donde sea que vayas. Toma fotos y videos al mismo tiempo y la puedes controlar con tu teléfono, si fuese necesario. Y aunque la GoPro no tiene varios tamaños de lentes como la Bolex, tiene la opción de elegir el tipo de ángulo con el que puedes grabar. La batería de la GoPro es recargable y para usarla nada más hay que presionar un solo botón. ¿Alguna vez han utilizado una GoPro? ¿Y controlado con el teléfono? La verdad que es bastante entretenido.

Durante mi viaje a Los Angeles, siempre llevaba conmigo la GoPro. La verdad es que me gusto bastante porque la cámara es tan pequeña que la verdad no te molesta si quieres grabar y caminar al mismo tiempo. También no tienes porque mirar la mini pantalla todo el tiempo. En realidad, no tome muchas fotos con la GoPro, pero si muchos videos durante el viaje.

Si comparamos la GoPro y la Bolex, nos podemos dar cuenta de que la fascinación por las películas viene desde los años 1900 y actualmente esa fascinación y encanto por las películas siguen vivos. Hoy en día, cualquiera de nosotros puede crear una película, ya que tenemos la facilidad en nuestros teléfonos, el video lo podemos publicar en nuestras redes y millones de personas lo pueden ver inmediatamente.

Lamentablemente, no les puedo mostrar lo que grabe con la Bolex, porque ya saben, es un rollo, y solamente lo podemos ver si utilizamos el proyector. Aunque, mis videos de la GoPro si que los pueden ver.

The Art of Moving Pictures

As previously mentioned, I have a passion for filmmaking and photography. In one of my previous post, I wrote about filming with a Bolex H16. This camera goes all the way back to 1935 when it was first used. This camera had to be loaded with a 16mm film and developed later. It was a very long and manual process because to film with the Bolex, aside from loading the film, the light needs to be measured manually, by using a lightmeter, taking into consideration the aperture of every lens that is attached to the camera.

Also, the Bolex did not really have any batteries, but a motor instead that had to be cranked up manually and will only allow for 18 seconds of filming. If you wanted to keep filming, you had to “recharge” the motor again, for another 18 seconds.

We are not in the 1900s anymore and technology has advanced significantly in the last couple of years. This advancement is what brought us the amazing GoPro. For those of you who don’t know, a GoPro is a tiny camera that you can carry with you everywhere, it takes videos and photos and you can control it with your own phone if necessary. The GoPro doesn’t have interchangeable lenses, but the settings can be adjusted, and you can film with a wide or with a standard view. GoPro battery is rechargeable, and you only need to press a button to use it. Has anyone ever used a GoPro? Have you controlled it with your phone? It is very entertaining.

During my trip to L.A, I was always carrying a GoPro with me. I liked it because the camera is so small that you can walk and still be able to see where you are going. There’s no need to be looking at the screen all the time. Another amazing feature is that you can make videos and take pictures at the same. I did not really take any pictures with the GoPro. However, I do have lots of footage of my trip.

Comparing both the Bolex and the GoPro, we can see how film goes all the way back to the 1900s and how people are still fascinated with the idea of moving images. Today, all of us can make a film using our own phones and make it available for everyone to see it almost immediately.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to share the footage I created with the Bolex H16, however, I can share the footage from the GoPro.

¿Me Merezco Una Estrella?

Si me siguen en Instagram, se pudieron haber dado cuenta de que tuve la oportunidad de pasar el fin de semana en Los Angeles, California.

Los Angeles es una ciudad hermosa donde el tiempo es bien agradable y el horizonte está lleno de montañas. Hollywood está ubicado en Los Angeles y para los que no lo sepan, Hollywood es considerada la capital de las películas del mundo. También, las letras de HOLLYWOOD son las segundas mas reconocidas alrededor del mundo, después de la gran M amarilla de McDonalds.

Desde pequeña siempre tuve un interés por la fotografía y las películas. Recuerdo que cuando tenía como ocho o nueve años y miraba series que eran dobladas de inglés a español, no entendía porque los labios de los actores nunca iban acordes con la palabra que modulaban. También recuerdo haber leído un libro que conseguí en un estante viejo que tenía mi abuela en su casa. El libro trataba sobre como hacer funcionar las cámaras fotográficas. Leía en la oscuridad, ya que la única luz que entraba en esa habitación era a través de una ventana miniatura que casi pegaba al techo. También hacía mucho calor, así que solamente leía un rato, y luego volvía a dejar el libro donde estaba y regresaba al día siguiente para continuar con mi lectura.

Además de la fotografía, mi curiosidad por las películas fue creciendo cada día más. Siempre quise aprender y entender más a fondo sobre la producción de las películas, y por eso ahora tengo mi licenciatura en Medios de Comunicación y una certificación en Producción de Video.

Tuve la oportunidad de visitar los estudios Paramount en Hollywood durante este viaje. Para mí fue una gran oportunidad de mirar y experimentar en persona lo que es en realidad la producción de series de TV y las películas. Siempre supe que la mayoría de las veces lo que vemos en la tele es todo montado o manipulado. Pero al verlo con mis propios ojos, me sentí como que ya lo sabia todo. Es un sentimiento que no puedo explicar muy bien. Pero se que me sentí aliviada al saber que no estaba equivocada. Descubrí los secretos de los productores, bueno, algunos. Y uno de mis sueños se hizo realidad, el de visitar un estudio real de televisión.

También tuve la oportunidad de visitar la famosa “Walk of Fame”, que es la avenida donde están todas las estrellas de los actores mas famosos de Hollywood. Mientras estaba caminando, me di cuenta de que era el momento de la premier de Godzilla y que los actores estaban por llegar. La premier fue en el Teatro Chino TLC, que está al lado del Dolby Theater. Yo simplemente me olvidé que estaba caminando y pues me quede ahí mirando a los actores de Godzilla caminar por la gran alfombra.

Este viaje para mí de verdad que fue excelente. Un poco corto, pero productivo. Regresaré a Los Angeles, de eso no hay duda. Tengo que visitar otros lugares, o quién sabe, a lo mejor a vivir.

Do I Deserve a Star? – Not yet, Anyways …

If you all follow me on Instagram, you would know that I had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Los Angeles, California.

Los Angeles is a beautiful city with amazing mountain views and a pleasant climate. Hollywood is in Los Angeles and for those of you who don’t know, Hollywood is considered the capital of movies. Aside from moviemaking, the Hollywood sign is the second most important sign in the world, after McDonald’s big yellow “M”.

Growing up I always had, and still have, a fascination for pictures and moving images. I remember watching English shows in Spanish and not understanding the dubbing that was going on in every show. It was interesting and fascinating for me because I could see the actor’s lips moving and the movement wouldn’t match with whatever word they were saying. I was young then, probably around eight or nine years old. I also remember reading about photography and the way cameras work in a book that I found in an old bookshelf at my grandmother’s house. I would sit on the floor by the bookshelf and read in the dark because there wasn’t any light in that room for some reason, and it was so hot I would be sweating while reading. The only natural light in that room was coming in through a tiny window that was so high it almost reached the ceiling. I would put the book back on the shelf when I was done and would come back the next day for more.

Aside from photography, my attraction to movie production came to me when I was a bit older. I started to get into movies and wanted to understand how everything was made on the backend. And that is why I decided to expand my knowledge on the topic and got into Media Studies and Video production in college and university.

Visiting Paramount Studios in Hollywood was a great opportunity for me to take a closer look into the production of movies and TV shows. I always knew that most of the scenes, in movies specifically, are fake or manipulated. And the fact that I was able to face it, it gave me the chills and an “I knew it” kind of feeling that is hard to explain. I could say it was a relief to know I wasn’t wrong, but at the same time, I was happy because I have discovered their secrets and my dream of visiting a real shooting studio was fulfilled.

I also visited the Walk of Fame, of course. And while I was doing the walk, I couldn’t help but notice that the Hollywood Premier of Godzilla – The King of Monsters was happening on that Saturday evening at the TLC Chinese Theater, next to the Dolby Theater. I forgot about the walk, of course, and just stayed there and watched as the cast of the new Godzilla movie made the carpet walk.

This was a fantastic trip for me. Short but productive. I will go back to L.A for sure. Either to visit other places or to live there. Who knows? Possibilities are endless.
